Arrange a car around your hotel stay
Already staying in Mastihari and planning a few days out? Start by comparing the dates you actually need a car, then confirm whether the supplier can deliver to your accommodation and collect it afterwards.
Mastihari and Mastichari refer to the same destination. The municipal visitor guide uses both spellings for the seaside settlement north of Antimachia. This guide focuses on hotel handovers; the main Mastichari car hire guide covers the resort, harbour and wider trip planning.

Kos Hotel Delivery
Use the hotel-delivery option, then confirm your exact accommodation with the supplier.
Name & address
A resort name alone is not a meeting point. Ask which entrance or parking area to use.
Driver & documents
Have the booked driver, required licence documents and accepted payment card present.
Return confirmed
Agree the time, location, fuel level and key handover before your last rental day.
Hotel handover or airport collection?
Base the decision on when you need the car and the full cost of getting to and from your accommodation.
Request delivery to your hotel
Kos Hotel Delivery is a search starting point. Before committing, ask the chosen supplier to confirm your hotel’s full name, street address, delivery date and time, meeting place and any delivery or collection charge.
For a large resort, establish which entrance is intended. For an apartment or villa, provide an address and a clear meeting point. Ask your accommodation where a car may stop without blocking access. Coverage and handover hours depend on the supplier and offer.
Compare the airport alternative
If you want to drive straight to your accommodation after arrival, compare Kos Airport collection. Check the voucher for desk, shuttle or meeting-point instructions, required flight details and delayed-arrival arrangements.
Include transfers in your comparison if you choose hotel delivery instead. Neither option is always cheaper, and a hotel-delivery search does not automatically include an airport return.
A handover checklist you can use
Leave enough time to check the car before your first outing. Do not schedule a tight departure around an unconfirmed delivery time.
Before the supplier arrives
Save the supplier’s contact number and make sure it has yours. Confirm the meeting point directly. Have the booked driver, voucher, licence documents and required card ready; hotel reception cannot approve a change to the rental contract.
Before you drive away
Inspect the car together, photograph existing damage and record the fuel level. Check child seats and luggage fit, understand the controls and keep the signed condition record. Report any discrepancy before leaving.
Before your return day
Confirm the collection time, meeting place and required fuel level. Ask whether the driver must be present and how to obtain a return record. Leave keys with reception only if the supplier has explicitly agreed to that procedure.
Terms to settle before booking
A convenient hotel handover still follows the supplier’s rental conditions. Read them before paying, including anything due locally.
Deposit & payment card
Check the deposit amount, accepted credit or debit cards and any requirement for the card to be in the main driver’s name. Paying online does not settle the collection rules.
Excess & cover
Check the excess and excluded damage. Establish whether optional cover changes your liability with the supplier or reimburses costs later.
Licence & drivers
Confirm documents for your licence country, age and licence-holding requirements, and extra-driver charges. Make sure every intended driver is accepted under the contract.
Fuel & mileage
Check the fuel policy, mileage allowance and refuelling charges. Allow time to refuel and retain any receipt the supplier requires.
Delivery & extras
Confirm delivery and collection fees, child-seat availability and other requested extras. Check what happens if your accommodation or handover time changes.
Changes & returns
Read cancellation and late-return terms. An airport return or a handover outside normal hours needs explicit agreement, with any charge shown before booking.
Choose for passengers, bags and access
For a mid-stay rental, think about what you will carry on excursions. Include all suitcases if the same car will also take you to the airport.
- Short day trips: a compact category may suit light luggage and paved roads.
- Families: compare boot capacity with a buggy, bags and child seats in mind.
- Automatic transmission: request and verify it explicitly, independently of the example car image.
- Accommodation access: ask about parking and narrow entrances. A larger vehicle does not confer permission to use rough tracks.
Simple outings from your hotel
Keep the first day’s plan flexible enough for collection. Check the route, parking and final access road before leaving.
A village outing
Consider a visit to Antimachia with time to park and walk. Use the accommodation address as your starting point when planning the route.
A different beach day
The Marmari guide is useful if you are comparing another beach base or planning a visit. Stay on permitted roads and check parking signs on arrival.
A town visit
For a day around Kos Town, leave time to park and explore on foot. Keep the evening return drive in mind when deciding your plans.
At your hotel, use the agreed guest parking and keep entrances clear. Around the village and harbour, drive slowly near pedestrians; do not assume a space is free or permitted because other cars use it.
Mastihari hotel car hire FAQs
Is Mastihari different from Mastichari?
No. Both spellings refer to the same resort. Give the supplier your accommodation’s full name and address so the handover does not depend on the spelling of the village.
Does Hotel Delivery cover every hotel?
No universal coverage is established by the search option. Ask the supplier to confirm your property, time, meeting point and charges before booking.
Can reception collect the car for me?
Do not assume so. Ask the supplier who must attend the handover and which documents and card are required. Agree any key-return arrangement directly with it.
Can I finish the hire at Kos Airport?
Search with the intended return location and check the chosen offer. The supplier must accept the arrangement and confirm any one-way fee, return meeting point and inspection procedure.
What if I only want a car for one excursion?
Compare the total for the required hire period, including delivery and collection charges. Check the available pickup and return times before making plans around that day.
Can I take the car on a ferry from the harbour?
First obtain written supplier permission and confirmation of insurance and recovery cover, and check the operator’s vehicle rules. A hotel-delivered car has no automatic ferry permission.
