Taking Rental Cars on a Ferry

The Question we get asked a lot , can I take the car from Kos to another Island on a Ferry?
Simple answer is YES!

Ferry travel is allowed by many of our suppliers. We have broken down each supplier that allows travel by Ferry and its associated costs.

Alamo

Authorization is required at time of pick up! Please Speak Directly to Alamo at time of pick up of your vehicle.

Alma

Ferry travel is only on request. Damages caused while ferrying are not covered by any insurance and the customer is responsible for the full cost of repairs and for retrieving the vehicle at the rental station.

Auto Union - Car Rental

Vehicles can be taken, by ferry, to ALL other parts of Greece only after coordination with the local station. An additional insurance which covers ferry travel is available upon collection of the car with an extra charge of EUR 74.40 per rental.

Budget

Ferry It is only allowed if you attain prior written permission from the Supplier. Please speak to the supplier at time of pick up!

Enterprise

Authorization is required at time of pick up! Please Speak Directly to Enterprise at time of pick up of your vehicle or request approval prior to pick up at below e-mail.

Europcar

Taking rental vehicles on ferries is allowed. However, all protections and coverage products lose validity for the duration of ferry trips. Fees apply; please ask the Supplier for details when you pick up the vehicle.

Crossing between different islands and also between islands and the mainland is only allowed if you receive special permission from the Supplier. You must also purchase special coverage. Please ask the Supplier for details when picking up the rental vehicle.

Green Motion

You may not take the rental vehicle on any type of boat, ship, ferry.

It is only allowed if you attain prior written permission from the Supplier. There is a fee of €31 per direction. There is a fee of €155 per rental

Exer

Ferry Insurance from one rental office to another rental office is available for an additional charge of EUR 62 (incl. VAT). This insurance is available at the rental desk at time of pick up.

National

You may not take the rental vehicle on any type of boat, ship, ferry. It is only allowed if you attain prior written permission from the Supplier. There is a fee of €40.75–43.44 per direction.

Sixt

Ferries between Greek islands are allowed. However, prior written approval from rental office is required.

Please leave a note in booking that you will be traveling by ferry.
